The British Council School was the pioneer British school in Spain from the very first day it opened its doors in 1940, when the school was based in Calle Mendez Núñez in Madrid. Since then, the main objective of the British Council School has been not only to offer a bilingual and bicultural education, but also to develop future citizens with values such as freedom, honesty, integrity, creativity and professionalism.

Our long experience in the field of teaching has now turned the British Council School into one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Spain. More than 10,000 Spanish students and other nationalities have passed through our classrooms, and many of them have achieved significant professional recognition. The bond between the school and its students lasts a lifetime, thanks to the strong ties that we foster during school life.

The school is part of the British Council, the official organisation of the UK that promotes education, English language and cultural relations worldwide. This allows us to be a part of an international network of other educational and corporate institutions around the world, and gives us excellent opportunities to participate in cultural activities on a global scale.

I invite you to come and talk to us and visit our facilities in Somosaguas, Pozuelo de Alarcón.

I hope to greet you in person shortly and send you my best wishes.

Mercedes Hernández Estrada

Head of British Council School
