On the 10th of June, we had a very exciting day of sport, with 36 students taking part in the School´s Aquathon Competition. The event involves swimming 75 metres and then running for 1km. The competition demands both stamina and concentration, which is why taking part tests courage and discipline. All of the competitors got a prize, with those getting the best times also acknowledged as winners.
Aquathon is an individual sport testing levels of stamina, and putting together two sporting activities: swimming and athletics. There is no rest between the two disciplines, with just a change over area in between. That is why, it is such a test of endurance.
As in other years, students from Year 12 also attended, volunteering to help the younger ones, cheering along the way. This made for an intense sporting atmosphere and also provided an excellent example of 4 out of 5 School Values: Caring, Resilience, Challenge, and Loyalty.
Congratulations to all those who took part, the athletes, and also all the volunteers and families who supported the efforts of our youngest competitors. Certainly a day to celebrate, and a day to remember.
