Last Friday, on the 21st of September, students from the British Council School Big Band once again seduced a packed audience in San Martín Square, at the Segovia Hay Festival. It was an eclectic and fun programme, inspired by and paying tribute to the best film soundtracks. Our students got those watching quite excited with passionate interpretations from The Pink Panther, Star Wars and the legendary Over the Rainbow from the Wizard of Oz.
It was an open air, free concert with a great programme in which our students were able to showcase their talents and full musical expression. They received a standing ovation between each of their numbers and another one at the end of the performance.
Our participation in this annual Festival is another way of showing the School´s commitment to musical development. And not just for the artistic merit associated with Music learning, but also because of the values learnt overcoming challenges and team working, for example loyalty, flexibility, resilience and caring for ones peers.
It was a real pleasure to be able to watch and listen to our students, who performed with as much style and poise, as genuine professional musicians. Congratulations to everyone, both the students and their teachers, for putting on such a great show!
