Flexibility; Resilience; Challenge…These 3 School values are constantly reflected in the sports that we play at the British Council. We are always adding new sports onto the curriculum. That´s why our Year 5 and Year 6 students took part in an exciting Aquathlon on the 9th of May. Everyone gave their all swimming and competing. The event took place at the Body Factory swimming pool, in the building right next to the School and our students took part in activities both in and out of the water
Aquathlon is considered a kind of triathlon event. It is an individual endurance sport which brings together two kinds of sporting disciplines: swimming and athletics. It is also thought of as quite a tough event, because there is no rest in between the different legs and as such, it is considered an endurance sport.
Although it was a tough day, the competitors took part in good humour and managed to get through the different disciplines with a mixture of strong effort and good sportsmanship. It will certainly be a day which they won´t forget in a hurry. Not only because of the happy memories but also because of the rubber bracelet which proves their participation and which many will undoubtedly wear for a good part of the Summer...
