Once again our volleyball players demonstrated their determination, camaraderie and teamwork competing in the ICS Female Volleyball Tournament which took place on the 5th of March. Our brave competitors in Years 11, 12 and 13 never gave up, despite being drawn against some of the strongest teams in the first phase. 5th place is cold comfort but a long way from being a disaster and our players will be more than ready to fight for a medal next year.

The ICS Tournament for international schools included 8 teams Montessori, Kings College, ICS, Hastings, Runnymede, ISM, St Annes and the British Council School.

In the first phase the British Council School competed against the strongest teams: Runnymede, ICS and Kings College who went on to dominate the podium with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

In the second phase we lost against ISM in a thrilling match which finished very close, 29-27, giving us 5th place in the overall tournament rankings. This will motivate our players to improve and to show us next year, that they have what it takes to come back with a medal.

After being eliminated, we also played a number of other friendly matches, winning all of these. This certainly helped our players to get over their defeats, to regain their self-confidence and to want to continue improving.

Well done Girls! We appreciate your efforts and congratulations again, on getting that 5th place in the tournament.
