Once again this year, our twelfth year, the oldest in Primary (Years 4, 5 and 6) are taking part in the September trip which the School organises in conjunction with Layos Camp, at its facilities in Toledo. Three intensive days in what is an established event at the School. It has become a reference point as a model educational experience, backed up by both the success of the activities themselves, as well as the number of children taking part. The values of the School, Caring, Flexibility, Resilience, Challenge, Loyalty, are specially reinforced in this trip.
Through the different organised tasks on the course (woodland orienteering, trekking, games under the stars, etc.) the goal is to build the self-assuredness and confidence of students, developing their own self-worth and their curiosity for new things and new challenges. It is about helping them to grow as people, promoting and encouraging their creativity and skills in new areas, new sports and hobbies. The trip also helps them to develop their independence and reinforces values such as social harmony, respect for others and teamwork, all of which are basic pillars in the British Council School education programme.
In a completely natural environment, out in the countryside, the trip provides an unforgettable experience which allows our children to look forward to a new academic year, in good spirits and renewed energy.
