Being able to choose the best university available and above all, understanding the different steps they need to take, what paperwork is required and the deadlines involved, is fundamental to the future prospects of our students in their final years of their Secondary and Baccalaureate programmes. That's why the School has in place a team of university counsellors, which is totally committed and is in charge of advising and preparing students through this final and most important phase.
As well as advising students in a very personal way, understanding their individual interests and ambitions and helping them to work through application letters, and even rehearsing interviews to maximize their chances, there are also a variety of talks to convey the different selection criteria at some of the best universities in the world. Earlier this month, we had a good example of this. Some of the older students and Parents were able to learn first hand about the requirements needed to study at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
In a 30 minute presentation and then another 30 minute Q&A session, open to both Parents and Students, Loris Lysiotis a Manager at this most prestigious university explained the whole of the application process, all the entrance requirements, told us about the different degree courses and what it is like to study higher education courses at the LSE.
The London School of Economics and Political Science is ranked as one of the best universities in the world for Social Sciences. It is part of London University and has more than 8000 students in each academic year group. It is recognized as being one of the most international universities in the world, both for the make-up of its students as well as that of its academic staff. It is a most prestigious university choice, for which our students are now, very well prepared.
