Conscious of how important it is for a our students to choose the best Universities in which to continue their studies, the School offers individual support to each one. We help them to decide what their best options are, according to their own abilities and their own preferences. That is why, as well as our own University Orientation Programme, we also organise an International Universities fair, each year. Students can learn first-hand about each institution´s requirements and plus points, This year, more than 150 of the World´s best Universities participated, presenting their institutions to both students from our own School and to others, from other Madrid schools.

Spain and the United Kingdom continue to be the preferred destination for our students looking to take up their university degrees and this was again evident at this year´s fair. In fact, Spain is in the top 5 countries in the World sending most university students to UK institutions. Our School is also strong evidence of this fact. More precisely, 45% of students who graduated School last year, are now studying degrees abroad, mainly in the UK. 40% in total, with some others also going to other European countries and the United States. The British Council School is excellent preparation for our students to be able to access whatever University they aim for. Each year, they receive offers from some of the most prestigious, such as Cambridge, King’s College, Bristol, Lancaster and many others.

As well as being quite international, the quality of British further education is acknowledged worldwide. It has a reputation for its research, its high quality standards, its innovative methodologies and its extremely wide offer. This was also something fairly evident at the Fair, with more than 150 universities from 11 countries, but predominantly British ones, with over 60 of these represented.

As we have done in previous years, and in the spirit of openness and collaboration in the educational world, the afternoon before the Fair, the School organised a series of talks to inform and advise Parents on the salient points of a University education in the UK and about the BiBac© International Baccalaureate. These talks are provided by our own British Council education experts. They were, as ever, very informative for all the families concerned.
