The School believes that Music and musical performance on stage, in front of a live audience, is an important part of the academic programme. Performing develops memory, fluency, Maths skills and teamwork. Each year, the month of December becomes a musical celebration of talent and an opportunity to demonstrate what has been leant throughout the year. We are saying goodbye to 2019 as we enjoy doing best, by singing and playing Christmas carols and other traditional songs typical of this special time of year. Once again, our students were able to shine and show off their talents, exciting audiences on whatever stage they were privileged to be able to play.

The traditional Concert of Christmas Readings & Music, jointly organised by the School and the Madrid Complutense University's English Language Departments I and II, was again a roaring success. This is an unforgettable experience for our students and possible thanks to the tremendous effort, hard work and commitment of all the students and teachers involved. The Concert took place on the 12th of December and combined pieces sung by our student Choir with orchestras, chamber Music, Christmas readings in verse and prose and the fabulous rhythm of the School's musical groups and bands.

As we do every year, the School also held their annual Christmas Carol Concert on Wednesday, the 18th of December, at the Nuestra Señora de la Anunciación Church in Prado de Somosaguas. The concert was received with a thunderous round of applause by an overwhelmed audience, who really appreciated our students' musical abilities and the warmth of their voices.

In such a musical month, we should also not forget, the KS3 Christmas Performance with contributions from our Class Band and the Years 7 an 8 Choir. More than 90 students came together to fill the School with Music and Carol singing.

Music to put an end to 2019 with a real flourish. And, Music to welcome in the much deserved Christmas holidays and the New Year, 2020, which will undoubtedly also be full of Music and talent.

Merry Christmas everyone!
