La Cenicienta en el Británico

On the 23rd of May, and, under the amazing direction of our own Paloma Sigüenza, the students in KS3 delighted a packed audience in The British Council School Theatre, by putting on a very original production of Cinderella. With their usual level of dedication and professionalism, which we are by now, so used to, our students shone on the stage, watched by an excited audience, who rounded off the evening with strong applause and a standing ovation.

Cinderella is a fairy-tale with a variety of different spoken and written versions, old and modern, from different parts of the World, especially from Europe and Asia. Up until the Disney film version of 1950, the best well known had been the Grimm brothers´ work of 1812. But Disney´s Cinderella, the one which is usually uppermost in everyone´s mind these days, is based on the story written by the Frenchman Charles Perrault in1697. It is known by the title of  "Cendrillon ou La petite pantoufle de verre" (Cinderella or the Glass Slipper).
