On the 21st of September we threw a party for all the families attending our Bilingual Baby Club. Parents enjoyed the event at our School in El Viso and were able to learn first-hand how the British Council School starts teaching English to young children, from the age of 13 months. Led by our own team of specialists, the party offered an opportunity for children, between 1-5 years old, to have fun with their parents, playing games and taking part in workshops. A Saturday morning well spent on a stimulating English experience.
The Bilingual Baby Club has been designed by the School´s Early Years team to support families who are interested in a bilingual education from a young age. It offers a secure, fun, creative and resource rich environment for boys and girls from the age of 13 months. Children develop fast at that age. That is why we aim to give them the best possible start in language acquisition, in this case with English.
The Bilingual Baby Club is not a nursery. It is a school where Parents can get actively involved in the education of their children through the medium of play. A school which allows them to get involved in their children´s first stages of personal and language development. Specialised teaching staff follow a British curriculum at Foundation stage. The programme is built on the 7 areas of the Foundation Stage Curriculum. The 3 main areas are: personal, social and emotional development; physical development (psychomotor skills); and communication and language. And the 4 more specific areas: reading and writing, mathematics, artistic expression, and awareness of their surroundings.
The Bilingual Baby Club is an active programme. Activities and resources follow monthly learning targets and vary according to the level and preferences of the children themselves.
A big welcome to all our Families, to what is a fun and exciting way of learning English!
