Once again, as we do each December, we bid farewell to another year in the best way possible, and just like we like it: playing and singing Christmas carols and traditional songs which raise our festive spirits at this special time of year. Our students shone once again and delighted excited audiences. We played to a full-house wherever we went.
The traditional Concert of Christmas Readings & Music which is organised jointly by the School and the English Departments I and II at Madrid´s Complutense University was once again, a great success. For our students it is always an unforgettable experience that is made possible through their great effort, hard work and dedication as well as that of the teachers who help them prepare for it.
The concert brought together choral pieces sung by our students with Orchestras, chamber music and Christmas readings in verse and prose as well as several of our own music groups and bands. The Readers, Cellos, Concert Bands, Guitar and Percussion Ensembles, our Secondary Chorale (including members of Staff), Big Band, Rock Band, Los SacapelaS, Key Stage 3, 4 & 5 Orchestras and Symphonic Orchestra were all amazing. They played and sang in the Paraninfo with a full audience who clapped and cheered our students wonderful contribution. At one point there were as many as 100 people on stage, filling the room with their music and voices in front of a very appreciative audience.
As is usual every year, the School also held its own Christmas Carols Concert, on Wednesday the 20th of December at the Nuestra Señora de la Anunciación Church in Prado de Somosaguas. The concert was greeted with generous applause from an audience who clearly appreciated the singing talents of our students. On such a musical month there was yet another Concert given by our Music 21 students.
Enough musical entertainment to herald the Christmas season and give a first-class send off to 2017.
Merry Christmas everyone and see you in the New Year!
