Data Controller
British Council (Delegation in Spain of the British Council Foundation CIF: W0061076F, Pº General Martínez Campos 31, 28010 Madrid) is the data controller of your personal data held through our surveillance system.
Purpose of processing
We will process your data to purposes:
- To provide a safe and secure environment for pupils, staff, contractors and visitors.
- For investigation of child protection related incidents.
- To prevent the loss of or damage to the British Council School buildings and/or assets.
- To assist in the prevention of crime and assist law enforcement authorities in apprehending offenders.
- To assist in the supervision of compliance with H&S at work and the prevention of occupational hazards legal requirements.
- To prevent violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance in sports activities that take place at the British Council School.
Legitimation
The legal basis for this processing is the public interest, carry out these purposes in the public interest, as laid down by the following Spanish laws:
- Ley 5/2014, de 4 de abril, de Seguridad Privada;
- Ley Orgánica 1/1996, de 15 de enero, de Protección Jurídica del Menor, de modificación parcial del Código Civil y de la Ley de Enjuiciamiento Civil;
- Ley 31/1995, de 8 de noviembre, de prevención de Riesgos Laborales;
- Ley 19/2007, de 11 de julio, contra la violencia, el racismo, la xenofobia y la intolerancia en el deporte.
- Ley Orgánica 8/2021, de 4 de junio, de protección integral a la infancia y la adolescencia frente a la violencia.
Retention
The video footage will be kept for a maximum period of 30 days. Images will only be retained for longer when they are required by law enforcement authorities for an ongoing investigation with regards to the purposes described above.
Recipients
Images can only be disclosed to law enforcement authorities which require it, in compliance with a legal obligation.
Furthermore, we will share your data with our security service provider as data processor. This processing will be carried out exclusively at British Council premises in Spain.
Your Rights
You can exercise your data protection rights (access, limitation or erasure) by sending an email to DPOSpain@britishcouncil.es, including some form of ID verification.
You also have the right to request the protection of the Spanish Agency for Data Protection on its website www.aepd.es
