Declamation Day

Our Baccalaureat students (KS5) again left us speechless with their own words and did so, in four different languages. They went up on stage to practice their public speaking, one the most emblematic activities in the National Curriculum. Our students showed a real understanding of the pieces, great presentation style, correct language and content, composure, fluency and confidence in their own abilities.

The speeches covered a wide range of topics, from Oscar Wilde to “Black History”, to why they attend school. And surprising as it may seem, these were in four different languages: English, French, German and Chinese.

Our heartiest congratulations to them and to their teachers, especially the winners for what was an excellent Declamation Day. And thanks also to Ms. Farry for the magnificent organisation and also to all the judges and teachers who came to the event with their students. Everybody had a very exciting day and made us all feel very proud. We will look forward to the next Declamation Day for KS3 and KS4 (Year 7,8, 9, 10 y 11), which we are sure will be equally as fascinating.
