We have started off the Year with a visit from our German students coming over from Bensheim,to take part in the exchange programme, which the School organises with this country, each year. Throughout the first week of School, our German students joined our own Secondary pupils during the morning sessions. They took part together in both classroom as well as in other dynamic activities, organised by the School. They shared their day to day lives with their Spanish schoolmates. And in the afternoons, taking advantage of the good weather, our student guests were able to get to know Madrid and the surrounding area, better.
Our own British Council School trip adventure will take place between the 14th and 20th of November. Our students will travel back to Germany on these dates, accompanied by their teachers. They too will then have an opportunity to integrate with their German peers in their own classrooms and will get to sample the culture in that country.
The School is absolutely convinced that international travel helps students to practice and consolidate language skills they have been learning in the classroom. But it is also a way of them improving their overall language skills and helps them to develop self-esteem and self-confidence.
School exchanges are a fun way of learning to live together and sharing different experiences. They promote tolerant values and afford our students an opportunity to discover new cultures and different lifestyles in another home environment. These are advantages which can only help our students´ own personal development in the increasingly global world in which they live. It will undoubtedly help them in their own future, personal and professional lives.
