In April we had one of the most eagerly awaited dates this Spring, the Ballet Festival. This year, because of the large numbers taking part and also because of the great excitement that this show creates, we ran it in two seperate sessions on the 24th and 26th of April, at the British Council School Theatre. We ensured that everybody who wanted to go, was able to get a ticket.
The quality, expression, technique and sheer beauty of the ballerina´s movements guaranteed a standing ovation from the audience, which packed out the Theatre on both days.
Dance is one of the oldest subjects taught at School and it is given the importance it deserves because it contributes both physical and social wellbeing to the children. Some students go on to achieve a very high standard in their IGCSE´s. It is also one of the most popular generating a very high level of interest. Currently, more than 150 students, between the ages of 3 and 18 years old, spend some of their freetime to practice on a weekly basis.
We are very proud and excited to have seen our ballerinas shine on stage, looking like real professionals and regaling everyone with their commitment and passion. Our most sincere congratulations to all the students and teachers, who make these magnificent shows possible.
