Robin Hood is back in town, along with Maid Marion, the Sheriff de Nottingham, Friar Tuck and Richard the Lionheart. Years 4, 5 and 6 Families staged this musical comedy at the British Council School Theatre, delighting a happy and enthusiastic crowd.
The cloak and dagger adventure lasted just over an hour and included a handful of songs which everyone really enjoyed. As well as the magic of the main character and the story itself, there was the music and the entertaining situations which the protagonists face. Robin Hood is the archetypal heroe and outlaw in English medieval folklore. The legend is based on the story of Robin Longstride or Robin of Locksley, a man with great spirit, hidding in Sherwood and Barnsdale Forest, close to the city of Nottingham. Robin Hood was the best archer and a defender of the poor and the downtrodden. He fought against the Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John, who used the rule of law to steal riches from nobles who opposed them.
Our most sincere congratulations, on such an enjoyable and unforgettable performance!
