Summer Concert en British Council School

Summer is here, which means we´ve been able to enjoy one of the School´s favourite musical events, the Summer Concert in Early Years. Our youngest students gave a magnificent concert, in front of their parents, showing off their musical abilities and everything they have learnt with us this year, KS1 and KS2 did as well a Summer Concert.

Music is a very important part of the School´s academic programme. That´s why our children start in Early Years, from the age of 4, learning to play the violin. And not only discovering this instrument for the first time, but also familiarising themselves with it and beginning to play melodies. Our young ones also have to perform in front of an audience. Performing helps to develop memory, fluency, creativity and teamwork.

With this kind of performance, our students develop confidence in themselves and grown in self-esteem, pushing to one side feelings of shyness and stage fright. And those of us lucky enough to be in the audience, we also grow, in terms of feelings of pride and admiration for the talent and professionalism of our young musicians.
